Printing Tips and Tricks

Here are some tips and tricks to printing out the boxes

and tags on this site.

    1. To insure that you get a nice size box printed, first you should right click on the image

and save it to your own files. Then open the image in your own paint or printing program.

You can then re-size the image to make it as large or as small as you like. Many times you can

rotate the box images to make them fit on a standard size card stock sheet. This makes them larger

or smaller, depending on what you want.

    2.  For small items you can print out more than one image and save paper.

    3.  Print your first trial on regular paper using black ink only and set your printer on "draft". You can

see how the printing is going to come out without wasting ink and card stock. Cut this draft pattern

out and see how it will go together. This also saves you ruining card stock, if you cut it out wrong.

     4. I use stick glue to paste my boxes together. It is cheap and you can put the glue right where

you want it. Stick glue can be found almost anywhere. It comes in a tube much like a chapstick tube.

It works great on paper and cardboard, and it drys very fast.

     5. Get your card stock at discount stores like Walmart or K-mart. It doesn't have to be high priced

to come out good. Remember this is a gift box and more than likely it will be discarded after opening.

I stock up on card stock and paper in the fall when they have school supplies on sale. Buy some ahead

and you will always have some on hand when you need to print out a gift box or tags.

     6. Get a nice paint program. Paint shop pro, to me, is one of the best programs out there. But there

are many paint programs out there that are not as pricey, some are even shareware or free. Many you

can try for 30 days for free to see if you like them. If resizing and printing is all you really need a paint

program for, then try a shareware or free program. But if you enjoy making graphics, edit photos, create

projects, cards, stickers, boxes, transfers and much more, then invest in a good paint program. It is

amazing the things you can create in just a short time.

That's all I have for now.    Enjoy your visit and please come back often!!!
